Hail is becoming increasingly visible as a Saudi honey-producing region, particularly for Talh and Sidr honey.
Saudi Press Agency reporting in 2026 profiled beekeeper Noura Al-Shawi, who expanded from a single hive to hundreds of productive hives while moving seasonally between pastures to follow flowering periods. Talh, Sidr and tamarisk are among the important trees in the region.
Hail also has a Ministry training apiary and has produced internationally recognised honey producers. Fahad Ajlan Al-Shammari, for example, won platinum for Talh and gold awards for Sidr and clover honey at the 2025 Paris competition.
